Hi all! Both teams practice Thursday after school until 6:00. Saturday choreography at the gym 4:30-6:30. We will perform at the 8th grade game Saturday evening at 7:30 on the JFL field.

Hi all!!
I am so proud of my girls!! What a great performance yesterday! I had so many compliments about you!
Thank you, Kathy Earls Thorner, for donating new poms to our team! And thank you to, Mary Baird, Rachel Patz Jeffrey and Linette Hieneman for giving them a trim yesterday! They looked great! Couldn't have done it without you girls.
Tomorrow, girls need to wear their white tanks, gold bras, chevron shorts, ponies and flip flops. Don't forget sunglasses and sunscreen. We will meet at O'Reilleys at 8:30 to get set up. Thanks for everyone who volunteered drinks, tents, benches...so appreciated. We will watch the weather. If it's too hot and business is dwindling, we may shut down at 12:00. We will see where the day takes us. If you have any extra buckets and sponges, bring them with you. We also need things to dry off cars. Thanks again for everything! See you in the morning!!

Uniforms

Hi all! I am sending out everyone's invoices for uniforms in a private message. Please let me know ASAP if there is a problem with your order so it can be fixed quickly before we send it out. Orders are due this Friday. I've also attached a practice and performance schedule for August, September and October. I also need to add, the new competition Pom outfit is NOT on the invoice. We will order those in September. This order includes:

Practice

Hi girls! can't wait to see you tomorrow in the RMS gym at 12:00 for our first practice! We will be learning our cadence and getting fitted for uniforms.  Next week on the 19th, we will be learning our football pom. Please text or private msg me any dates you will be gone this summer.


Competition Team:

Savannah( Kimberlee Hobbs) is selling her outfits from last year. Private msg me if you're interested. Here are the sizes:

Parent Meeting Info

Thanks for attending the parent's meeting today. If you couldn't get there, here are some of the things we covered...

Practice starts Friday, June 12 @12-2:00pm in the RMS Gym
During "dead period", we will practice at Firm Fitness (June25, July 3)
The All-Star Dance Team Tryouts and Camp, July 11 @10:00am-I would like any of the RMS girls in town that day to come and help.
Fundraisers- two car washes, pancake breakfast, candy bars/santa clauses/ Belk cards, hot dog lunch
Please try on your outfits from last year to see if they still fit. If not, let me know so we can sell to new members.
We will reuse the white uniforms, socks, tennis shoes, chevron outfit, warmups, hip hop outfit. We will be ordering a new kind of combat boot.
Competitive team only will order new pom uniform.
We will be performing at Freshman football games on Thursdays this fall, 7th and 8th grade boys' basketball games, the homecoming parade, and 2-3 competitions in Lexington the months of Feb and March.
When school starts, practice will tentatively be on Thursdays, 3-6:00 pending gym schedule approval.

2015-2016 Russell Middle School Dancing Devils

Congratulations to the new 2015-2016 Russell Middle School Dancing Devils!

We have two teams. The RMS "Dancing Devils" Dance Team and The RMS "Dancing Devils" Competition Team

RMS Dancing Devils- This team is responsible for performing at football and basketball pre games, some half times, parades and pep rallies. We will practice once a week. You will learn a pom dance/cadence and a hip hop routine. 

RMS Dancing Devils Competition Team- This team is responsible for performing at football and basketball pre games, halftimes, parades, pep rallies and two regional competitions. We will practice twice a week. You will learn a pom dance/cadence, a competition pom routine, two hip hop routines and a jazz routine.

There will be a brief team/parent meeting Thursday, June 4th at 3:30 in the RMS cafeteria. 

Keep in mind that you are a spirit leader. Just as cheerleaders promote school spirit with cheers, you promote school spirit with dance. By being on the dance team, you are a representing your school so you should always portray a positive image.

When you perform with your team, it is important to remember why you are performing. Whether you are dancing at the half-time of a football game or dancing for a national title, your main goal is to ENTERTAIN the crowd!! Thank you so much for auditioning to become a Dancing Devil! I cannot wait to see what these two teams achieve this year!!

Tomorrow, tryouts will begin at 10:00am in the RMS gym.

Parents are allowed to observe tryouts however please no talking or filming during the audition. Also, please keep younger siblings at home. The girls will be nervous and I don't want any extra noises distracting them.

Wow! What a great turn out we had at the dance clinic yesterday! Thank you so much for all the girls that came and danced their hearts out! Thanks so much to Savannah and Laurel for coming to assist. Couldn't have done it without you. Can't wait to see everyone shine at tryouts on Saturday!

Hi all!
Mr. Moore has let me know that we will need sports physicals this year. You do not have to have one to tryout but if you make the team, you will have to get one. Thank you!

This will be a competitive team so make sure you can fully commit yourself to the group before trying out. Our schedule is set early in the year so any missed rehearsals or performances for anything other than sickness, family emergency or death in the family will not be allowed.
