Good morning! I had a talk with the girls yesterday. After days of mulling our situation over I've decided that we will not be competing this year. I didn't come to this decision lightly, I assure you. I really wanted to take this great group of dancers to Westerville. However, for the past two months I haven't been able to make progress with them. Every week we have to work on changing routines for performances due to absences therefore we cannot get our dances finished, cleaned and competition ready. We now only have four practices left before competition and will not have everyone at those practices. I feel like I'm beating my head against a wall and that there is not a perfect solution. So, instead of stressing the girls and myself out this holiday season, I've decided we will enjoy our time together working on the dances we already have and finishing out the basketball season. I truly am upset for those girls who have been committed and working hard every week not missing practices but know that it hasn't gone unnoticed. I love these girls very much and look forward to the rest of the dance season. If you have already paid for your jazz costume, I will send the money home on Tuesday December 18th after practice. Thank you for all you have done and allowing me to work with your beautiful girls. Have a wonderful and blessed Christmas!

 We are setting our jazz piece for competition in January. I've let the girls know this is crunch time and I will need them to be more serious with their attendance and dedication. I'm not punishing anyone, its just that we don't have time to hold choreography for those who aren't there and then to take extra time trying to teach what they've missed. I love each and everyone of my dancers but I have to do what's best for the team.

RMS DANCE TEAM NEWSLETTER

 First off, I want to congratulate everyone for the fantastic dancing last week. Ive had so many compliments on both the parade and benefit performances. Your hard work is paying off and I'm so pleased. Thank you so much for your dedication!

 We have scheduled professional pictures with KMK photography in October. She will be doing group and individual shots. All girls need to wear maroon shirts with jeans. If they wear jewelry it needs to be gold toned. They can wear heels, toms, sperrys, etc.. We want a gorgeous, casual picture of the girls for personal and publicity shots and hopefully a banner to hang in the school, too. She will be offering packages for individual/group or just group. This will be an HDR session, so she can use some really awesome backgrounds for them.

 Just a heads up for those of you with remaining balances, uniforms are in and I will be passing them out at next practice. I have to have the balance paid in full before I can pass out the uniforms. We will be using those for our pom routines in games (the Raceland game on the 4th) and competition. We will use our Jersey uniforms for hip hop.

 I've listed our current schedule. However, we have basketball games sprinkled in there as well. Now that our gym is up and running, we will be performing at 8th grade boys basketball home games. As soon as I get that schedule, I'll forward it to everyone.

 In the past, we have only taken May off but I believe Im going to do it differently this year. Unless a great performance opportunity arises (Harlem Wizards, etc) we will finish our dance season after the March 17th performance. Clinics and try outs for the next school year will be in May.

Hey girls! Performance today in front of the Greenup Co Courthouse at 4:15. Here are directions... When you get to Greenup, turn right off of 23 between Mcdonalds and Little Caesar's. Make a left at the stop sign and go over the bridge. Continue following that road until you get to downtown Greenup. The courthouse is on the right beside of First and Peoples Bank. I have homecoming this evening with Jonah so I won't be there. Jessica will be there to meet the girls. She has their shirts, poms and music. If you haven't paid for your tshirt, give it to Jessica. Great job!

Way to go last night, sweet girls!! You absolutely shined! I'm very proud of each and every one of you! Dancers and moms, please remember to be kind to eachother and supportive to one another. We are a team and a family. It just won't work if we are not all on the same page and support each and everyone of our girls. I'm very pleased with the progress they've made and I want to keep moving forward. I love seeing our 8th graders pulling the new members to the side helping them and giving encouragement. It warms my heart. I'd like to see all of us doing those kind of actions.  It takes a lot of guts for these girls to dance in front of their peers regardless if they've been dancing for one year or ten years and they need all of our support:)  Thank you for all of your hard work fundraising, practicing and running the girls back and forth. It means a lot! Love you all!

Thursday's Game

Good morning everyone! Let's be at the field on Thursday by 5:15. That will give us 15 mins to change into new socks and shoes, add hair bows, 10 mins for warm up and 5 mins to get onto the track. "Thunderstruck" @5:45, kick off @ 6:00, "i Like It" @ halftime around 6:30. After the halftime dance you are free to leave. Hey dancers! It's about that time! Dance camp starts Monday June 4,5,6th 10-12:00 @ the studio.  Practices have been moved to wednesdays 1-3:00 due to a scheduling conflict.  Wednesday June 6th practice will be at the studio since we are already there. News this week...

Ok...I would really like for us to perform jazz at the Friday(6:30) and Saturday(11:00) games this week  As you know, it's still really rough so I am calling an extra rehearsal Thursday the 19th 6-8:30 @ the studio. Also, we will set our Pom routine on Friday Jan 27th 4-7:00 @the studio. I've asked for anyone with prior commitments in January to MSG me and I haven't received anything for January 27th.
