I will share a copy of the score sheet we will be using for try outs. There are a total possible of 100 pts plus 5 for extra credit. The cut off will be 140 which will be a score combined by the two judges. This includes the mandatory steps you MUST have to make the team, knowledge and execution of the dance, showmanship and appearance. Showmanship includes smiling, eye contact and energy. Please make sure hair is secure and fixed. Taking hair up and down during try outs will hurt your score. Make up and appropriate outfit should be worn. Let us see what you will look like during a performance.
Try outs will be Saturday starting promptly at 10:00am in the RMS Gym. It is open to parents and family. Please no talking or cell phone use during try outs.
Heel extensions, turns, splits and dance will be done in groups of four. Leaps will be done individually.
A list of the dancers who make the team will be posted on-line at russellmiddleschooldanceteam.blogspot.com by 5:00pm Saturday evening. If your name is on the list, we will be having a brief meeting on Monday, May 9th at 3:30pm to sign necessary papers, exchange contact information and get a summer schedule.
